Wood + Water is seeking an Account Manager, and Designer!

Who We Are

Our passion for transforming homes from an ordinary roof with four walls into your ultimate sanctuary, gathering place, and comfort zone all begins with our founder, Chi Yiu.

Unlike most people in the remodeling business who are primarily focused on the technical aspects, Chi understands the art of filling a space with life. He brings many years of creativity, experience, and exceeding customer expectations to bear on what he sees as the most important task: fitting beautiful well-placed details together in the exact combination to match your taste and lifestyle requirements – bringing in the latest technology and amenities while being kind to your budget.

Philosophy

We believe a freshly remodeled home is the best way to open the next chapter in your life. While it can be an exhilarating expansion of the dream life you see for yourself, it doesn’t have to be a complete departure from the story that has come before. That’s why we carefully take into account every one of our client’s lifestyles and sense of personal style, as well as the architecture of their home to create something that perfectly blends, while creating that elusive “eye-opening” effect only pleasurable surroundings can evoke.

We also make sure you feel absolutely comfortable and informed every step of the way, from the warmth with which we discussed your options to the care with which we treat the parts of your home which are not being remodeled. And ultimately, the best feeling we can never have is when we see that you absolutely LOVE what we’ve done together!

Chi developed his eye for the kinds of details that really “wake up” a room – and set it apart in a beautiful, yet luxurious way – through numerous work experiences in the industry at an early age. He has worked as a cabinet maker, a furniture restoration and installation professional, and even a color stylist formulating finishes for wood, metal, and plastic.

Chi was also the leading commercial trend forecaster at Sherwin Williams. His career broadened as an interior designer for high-end hotels, and he went on to work for one of the largest cabinet distributors in the southeast.

Today, Chi continues to stay involved in the design community at large, even mentoring younger design professionals through his involvement in the Home Builder Association of Wake County (HBAwake), HBADOC (Durham, Orange, and Chatham counties), American Institute of Architects, International Interior Design Association (IIDA), NAHB (North American Homebuilders Association), and the American Society of Interior Design (ASID).
